Field Trip 1
Te Pou Toetoe, Kings, & Parakiore
This Field Trip is limited to 20 people.
Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of Ōtautahi Christchurch's most exciting aquatic facilities. You'll visit the multi-award-winning Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool, home to New Zealand's only purpose-built manu pool and known for its inclusive, community-led design.
We'll also head to Kings Swim School, a new, purpose-built private swim school with impressive facilities, and get exclusive access to the under-construction Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre — soon to be the largest of its kind in New Zealand.
A brilliant opportunity to see innovation, community programming, and future-ready design in action.
Field Trip 2
Selwyn & Matatiki
We'll visit Selwyn Aquatic Centre, one of the first in New Zealand to introduce AI-assisted lifeguard technology. See the Lynxight system in action and hear how the centre doubled its aquatic space with a major upgrade.
Next, we'll head to Matatiki Hornby Centre — Christchurch's newest community hub combining a pool, library, café and civic spaces. Get behind-the-scenes insights from the project architect and hear about the real-world challenges of launching a new aquatic facility.
A must for anyone interested in aquatic operations, technology, and facility design.
