Recreation Aotearoa is on a journey to providing accessible and sustainable events for our conference delegates. The below information is designed to support your conference attendance. Conference Venue: Due Drop Event Centre 

Recreation Conference is in the Sir Noel Robertson Conference Centre at the Due Drop Event Centre, located at 770 Great South Road, Manukau.

Getting there

By car, the Events Centre is 18-30 minutes from the city centre, 10-15 minutes' drive from the airport and 5 minutes from Manukau.

 

By bus and train

The closest major bus and train stop is the Manukau Bus Station which serves as an interchange between bus and train services through connections to the adjacent Manukau Train Station. The Manukau Bus Station is approximately 1.5km from the Event Centre (22-minute walk away).

 

There is a connecting bus from the Manukau Bus Station to directly outside the Due Drop Event Centre on Great South Road (approximately 250metres from the main entrance).

By Taxi or ride share

The drop-off zone is located outside the Events Centre by the main entrance, in front of the colourful Pou Kopua.

Please note, this area is not covered and is approximately 80metres away from the main entrance. 

For attendees needing a closer drop-off at the main entrance, there is an access point for cars past the colourful Pou Kopua.

Venue Parking

Parking is available at the Event Centre, with spaces for mobility card holders located directly outside the main entrance (indicated by the red arrow on the site map below). To access these spaces, drive through the Main Gate and turn left just past the colourful Pou Kopua.

 

Please note that there are no designated mobility parking spaces within the general carpark areas. 

Venue Entrance

The main entrance to the Events Centre is via the Main Gate, off Great South Road. Pedestrian access to the venue entrance is through the access point between Gate 2 and the Main Gate. Gate 1 is not suitable for pedestrian access.

 

From the main gate, the entrance to the Sir Noel Robinson Conference Centre is located to the left of the colourful Pou Kopua.

 

The entrance is level entry, with double automatic doors.

 Conference Registration

The conference registration is through the main entrance, on the right-hand side of the main foyer at the entry to the Sir Noel Robinson Conference Centre.


Hearing Loop

Please note, the Event Centre does not have an assisted listening system. 


Accessible Bathrooms

Two accessible bathroom facilities are available on the ground floor, separate from the male and female toilet blocks. These are located along the corridor from the venue reception.  

 

Please note, there are no gender-neutral bathroom facilities available at the Due Drop Event Centre. Delegates are welcome to use the facilities that best align with their gender identity and/or expression.


Service Dogs

Service dogs are welcome at the Lower Hutt Event Centre, the recommended relief area is on the grassed area at the front of the building through the main entrance. 

 

Dedicated Quiet Space

A quiet space for Rec Conference delegates is available on Level 1, in the Boardroom . Access to level 1 is via the lift or stairs, located at the main venue reception. Please note, it is a single door entry to the quiet space (780mm wide).
