About the Field Trip
Buses will pick attendees up from the Events Centre and take us to the stunning Lake Hayes, where you will hear from Mike Rewi, Director of Mana Tāhuna. Mana Tāhuna is a kaupapa Māori Charitable Trust committed to and leading positive systemic change for the community and te Taiao.
The Trust has been involved in an extensive project where they aim to restore Lake Hayes.
We will also hear from Jana Davis, Director of Tapu o Tāne. We will bike from the Lake Hayes Pavilion to the restoration site where an ecologist will speak to the methods they have used to restore the site.
Buses will leave the Lake Hayes Pavillion around 2:15pm with the last drop off at 2:45pm.
Drop off is at the Events Centre and Golden Elm Drive so delegates can get to their flights.
