Field Trips will be held on Friday 30 August. These will all finish no later than 3pm at Wellington Airport. Please do let us know if you have any accessibility requirements when confirming your spot, some of these may include light-moderate activity. Field Trip pricing is $110+GST.


If you have already registered and would like to add a field trip, please add another registration under your name and select the field trip ticket you would like. Otherwise you can add this on when you register for conference. Please direct any queries to maryanne@nzrecreation.org.nz

Field Trip One - Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington

Field Trip One will include a tour of Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre, which boasts a 50-metre heated indoor pool, diving pool, toddlers' pool and spray water-play area, programmes pool, hydrotherapy pool, gym, spas and saunas.


We will also visit Keith Spry Poolin Johnsonville as well as the awesome Toitu Poneke Hub to see how communities can recreate together!

Field Trip Two - Te Awa Kairangi/ Hutt Valley

We will begin Field Trip Two at NZCIS for an immersive tour which includes:


-          a 60-minute tour of NZCIS – the home of the Hurricanes, Phoenix, and Wellington Rugby

-          30 minutes of interactive activities including the interactive screen. This is the largest of its kind in the world, which allows athletes to practice their kicking and passing against the screen but also has some fantastic games. We can also make use of our Technogym rowing machines which creates a virtual race on a TV screen in the gym.


 From here will will have exclusive access to the the Naenae Pool Project

as well as the rest of the Whakatupu Ngangae project. Finally we will visit Huia Pool before returning to the airport.
